Texas man hit by forklift at Nucor Decatur dies at Huntsville Hospital
Police responded to Nucor Steel, located at 4301 Iverson Blvd. in Trinity about 8 a.m. Monday September 20, 2021 after a call was made involving a person hit by a forklift at the company’s hot mill. The injured man was transported by First Response ambulance to Huntsville Hospital. Air transport was not possible because of the weather conditions at the time in Decatur.
The man injured was later identified as Don Burton of Texas. Burton later died at Huntsville Hospital. Burton worked at Delta Fabrication and Machine in Daingerfield, Texas, and worked at Nucor as a contractor.
